Winston the Bear and the Dragon of the Black Firs is the debut book by author Catherine MacCulloch and introduces the lovable character of Winston the Bear.
This rhyming tale for 3 - 8 year olds has an original combination of photographs and hand-drawn illustrations. It is a stand-alone story that can be enjoyed whether or not readers have visited the Highlands and which both people living in and visiting Scotland will enjoy.
Book blurb
When Winston the Bear reads a story about a fiery dragon that once terrorised the town where he lives, he wonders if the tale could be true. Curious, he sets out to investigate if there is any proof that the dragon existed and if it could still be hiding somewhere nearby, undiscovered.

Will Winston find what he is looking for, or is it just a very tall tale?
